Under direction of the Director of Service Delivery and Strategic Initiatives, the Management Intern is part of the One University Model that provides support across all ASU campus locations.  The Management Intern contributes to the mission and goals of Career and Professional Development Services by supporting departmental and university wide projects, initiatives, and service delivery.  This individual will provide technological support to users, as well as, support enterprise-wide platforms such as Handshake, ASU Mentor Network and many more.

Essential Duties

  • Provide and remove access for all staff, student workers and university partners for a variety of technology platforms.

  • Monitor all systems to ensure departments and university partners are meeting foundational service standards and response times.  Conduct follow-up and outreach to address any issues. 

  • Review and approve Handshake accounts for students and alumni.

  • Setup technology for new staff and request services and permissions based on their position.

  • Troubleshoot technology and platform issues and submit tickets as necessary.

  • Monitor billing cycle for all technology, request security reviews and submit paperwork for payment.

  • Maintain database of vendors and respond to vendor inquiries on an as needed basis. 

  • Work with EOSS Technology Team to keep the technology catalog up to date.

  • Review departmental website and submit basic updates as needed.

  • Complete technology trainings and participate in meetings related to departmental technology.

  • Prepare and maintain technology/hardware inventory.

  • Oversee the technology check out process.

  • Maintain and update technology related MOU’s. 

  • Complete audits on systems to regularly add or remove staff access.

  • Learn platforms in an effort to make recommendations about how best to utilize them in the day-to-day work of staff within Career and Professional Development Services but also staff external to our office.

  • Update, write and maintain technology documentation, processes and procedures.

  • Attend technology related meetings.

  • Lead 1:1 and occasional small group trainings on a variety of technology/platform related topics.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Evidence of a technical background with either specific work experience or education in a computer support, software support or other related area.

  • Experience in project management and organizational skills

  • Experience in juggling multiple projects and deadlines at one time

  • Experience in being flexible with the ability to change focus quickly

  • Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in facilitating training preferably in a technical area

  • Evidence of being enrolled in an ASU graduate program

Working Environment

  • Utilize computers and standard office equipment to perform functions of this position

  • Adhering to Career & Professional Development Services office dress code.

  • Lifting and carrying materials, as well as, pulling and pushing carts of up to 30 lb.

  • Additional movement requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.

  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods; 50% sitting; 25% standing; 25% walking.
