Position Summary - A general statement regarding the overall objective of the position
The Audio Visual Manager leads a team of design, engineering, and operations resources that build and maintain technology in all WGU office space including all conference rooms, Board Room, Training areas, Production Studio, and special-use rooms in all offices and campuses. The manager will ensure the highest quality performance and ease of use for all rooms to provide a consistent and efficient meeting experience for remote and in person attendees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities - List of significant responsibilities and essential duties that must be completed in order to achieve the objectives of the position
Build a team to architect and engineer AV solutions that meet and exceed business expectations and innovate for greatest value. Implement and manage AV-related technology in responsible and integrated ways to IT Infrastructure and facilities systems.
Design technology standards for remote sites, room types, and interfaces for consistent operations.
Work with training resources to educate and inform different employee groups and monitor user feedback for high net promoter scores.
Work closely with Product Management, Unified Communications, and Facilities teams to ensure technology supports feature roadmaps and business needs.
Manage execution of projects including tech and AV design, quotes, vendor installation, and testing. Represent costs and timelines of work for upgrades, remodels, and new construction projects.
Lead efforts on testing and introducing technology to the workplace that improves productivity, collaboration, and flexibility for business leaders, technical engineering teams, and a highly distributed workforce.
Ensure quality systems and technology is provided for high-visibility events including executive meetings, All Hands broadcasts, Commencement live-streaming, etc.
Maintain Subject Matter Expertise for Cisco Webex video conferencing platform to guide adoption and maximum value to Faculty and employee experiences.
Knowledge and Abilities – Required competencies, proficiencies, specialized knowledge, technology skills, etc.
Familiarity with supporting Enterprise Video Conference solutions including Cisco Webex, BlueJeans, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
Experience troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading conference room AV technology
Strong experience managing AV and cabling vendors.
Experience building and operating broadcasting solutions
Familiarity with building one-line diagrams, take-offs from engineering plans, and collaborating with network, electrical, and security teams.
Ability to travel for remote work on occasion
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Qualifications - Minimum education and/or prior experience qualifications, required certifications, field of study, bilingual, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Leadership experience of technical teams
Experience as an AV engineer
Preferred Qualifications:
4 year Bachelor degree in IT field
Cisco certifications
Working Conditions – Specific requirements of the job such as travel and the environment in which the job is performed.
Salt Lake City based office with occasional travel to remote sites in different states.
