Under indirect supervision of the Director of Information Technology, provides advanced software support for end-users; assist Senior Database Administrator in managing Oracle Database software; upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot Ellucian Software Systems; end user support; develop and implement code; etc…

Monitor Oracle 11g relational databases.

Install, implement, and upgrade Oracle products including Oracle database and Weblogic systems.

Install, implement, and upgrade Ellucian Software Systems and associated server software.
-
Assist end-users with problems and provide instructions to aid them with the proper use of Ellucian Software Systems.

Design and program specific applications in response to departmental and individual needs and requests.

Design and develop advanced procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting and classifying data for input and retrieval.

Provide support, guidance and leadership to other staff engaged in similar functions, including web server maintenance.

Instructs and trains Information Technology staff in the use of various Ellucian products and other software solutions.

Works with other departments on campus to provide support for third party software that interfaces with the campus database system.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and practices pertaining to Information Technology.

Knowledge of existing equipment and the operating systems in use.

Knowledge of software systems, Oracle database, and Ellucian software systems.

Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in software systems.

Knowledge of virtual computer environments (VMWare) and VM implementation in a datacenter.

Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and Ellucian systems. Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware/software solutions.

Ability to develop and deliver presentations.

Ability to perform preventive maintenance on computer hardware and software. Ability to analyze and resolve computer problems and to coordinate hardware and software solutions.

Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to technical staff in area of expertise.

Skill in operating computers and software.
High School Diploma or GED. Three to five years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
