IT Technician, Senior - Information Technology Services
Provide technical and business analysis for university computing with a focus on end-user technologies (PC’s, networking equipment and related classroom support services). Provide assistance, when needed, to other members of the desktop technology support team in solving complex technology problems. Consult with campus personnel to assess technological needs and make recommendations. Directly work on specialized projects through development of solutions and by working across other IT focused teams to bring such projects to fruition. Direct and maintain an efficient team by developing procedures, utilizing available resources and acquiring the tools necessary for the team to work at their potential. Organize and direct the installation process for new and current PFW-owned personal computers and all peripherals (monitors, printers, etc.) in accordance with appropriate standards and user preferences.

Required:
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Minimum four years’ experience working with personal computers including configuration and software installation and analyzing, evaluating and resolving computer system problems
-
One year computer operating experience in a client/server environment
-
Experience with networked systems
-
Must have excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills
-
Ability to work on multiple tasks while maintain excellent customer service skills
-
Interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills
-
Must have a strong working knowledge of PC, network applications and software packages
-
Knowledge of Macintosh operating system
-
Ability to research problems and solutions with vendor support sites and department documentation
-
Must be able to work independently while being a member of a very active team

Must like working with multiple tasks in high-pressure environment

Ability to direct the work of lower level teammates
-
Ability to develop solutions for and complete specialized projects within set timeframes

Ability to act as IT Consultant to assess the needs of staff, faculty and administration and come up with sound recommendations

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Lead or supervisory experience
