Experience working in a collaborative environment to develop and support Student Information System solutions and other applications, using version control, documentation, and release management practices.

Experience with SDLC and quality assurance practices to develop technical specifications to ensure compliance with System Development Lifecycle methods.

Experience in customer relationship management working with diverse product owners and stakeholders including outside vendor contacts.

Experience with COBOL/DB2/CICS/WebSphere

Experience with large-scale cloud -based ERP implementation
Job Description:
Iowa State University is seeking a Technical Team Lead for the Student Information System (SIS). The position serves as the supervisor and overall project manager for the SIS including the application areas of Admissions, Course Offerings, Student Records, Tuition and Fees, Financial Aid, Graduate College, and Residence Halls. This position provides leadership and hands-on support for production operations, maintenance, and continual improvement of the SIS including numerous integrations with external systems. Additionally, the SIS will be moving to Workday, a modern, cloud-based, enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution and this position will play a key role in this implementation project.
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides core computing, network services, enterprise systems, and information security resources to the students, faculty, and staff of Iowa State University. ITS partners with IT professionals and functional stakeholders from around campus to provide IT solutions to ISU’s academic and business units.
The ideal candidate will be technically-minded with the ability to work in collaboration with both campus technology professionals and end users. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and innovative, possess strong time management and organizational skills, and have a background in customer success. The candidate must enjoy solving communication and outreach problems with technology, and be capable of maintaining composure and professionalism under regular tight deadlines and occasional high-stress projects. Critical to this position will be the ability to build successful relationships across the university, including the ability to identify problems and offer solutions to ensure all stakeholders’ needs are met.
