Named in honor of Louise Thaden, a pioneering aviator who was born and raised in Bentonville, Thaden School opened in the fall of 2017 with 50 students in grades 7 and 9. With its well-resourced tuition assistance program and a national faculty, the school has grown to 220 students (grades 6-11) in just two years and is expected to grow over the next several years to serve as many as 500-550 students (grades 6-12). To support this robust growth, the school now seeks an Assistant Director of Technology.

The Position:

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Assistant Director will act as a secondary point of contact and leadership for the technology department. The primary role of the Assistant Director will be assisting with the implementation of and training on new technologies and integrating technology into the Thaden School curriculum through collaboration with faculty and students.

The specific responsibilities of the Assistant Director will include:

  • Collaboratively advancing the Thaden mission by researching best practices, developing new curriculum, and implementing accessible, practical, and purposeful technologies

  • Providing leadership and support of the effective implementation of educational technology through training, co-teaching, and modeling best practices

  • Responding to requests for classroom resources including new hardware, software, and media, while also assisting with classroom specific support requests through the ticketing system

  • Providing faculty and staff with tier-one hardware and software support

  • In collaboration with faculty, developing and delivering lessons utilizing technology to better accomplish curricular goals

  • Collaborating with faculty technology integration specialists

  • Managing a team of student technology interns

  • Working with the Librarian to educate the community on practical, purposeful, and responsible use of technology

  • Cataloging and keeping account of all technology resources

  • Assisting in the creation and documentation of processes and procedures

  • Supporting the database manager through the creation and management of accounts

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree as well as technology experience in an independent school setting.
