Network and Systems Administrator
Cushing Academy seeks an experienced Network and Systems Administrator with a collaborative nature to contribute to the Academy’s Technology Department and the community. The position of the Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall maintenance of the academy's computer network and servers, the design, security and growth. This includes the care and maintenance of the school's network, switches, firewall, wireless controller, VOIP server, door access, security video, file, application, web domain controller and email servers, end-user support and network design. This person creates and maintains domain and email accounts. This person assists the Director of Technology on major projects. Also, handles requests as the Director of Technology designates. The Network and Systems Administrator will provide system administration and manage Microsoft 2012 and 2016 servers running in Hyper V environment. Candidate will install new software, software upgrades, computers, printers, and peripherals; monitor network performance and security; schedule and manage network backups; troubleshoot networked hardware and assist with End-User maintenance and support on network related tasks.

A Bachelors Degree is required in a computer-related field or an equivalent degree; MCSE preferred and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others. Candidates must be able to think fast, solve problems, and communicate well. If candidate does not possess all skills currently, training may be provided. The ability to learn on the job is a critical skill. Candidates should have a minimum of five years experience managing a Windows network, demonstrated experience with Active Directory, TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, 802.11 wireless networking and working knowledge of network infrastructures. In addition, some experience with GAFE, Google Apps for Education is preferred. Some work-related experience in an education environment is also preferred, but not required. |
