Director of Educational Technology and Innovation
Stone Ridge is seeking a Director of Educational Technology (EdTech) and Innovation to begin July 1, 2020.
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. With over 700 students and rooted in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education, Stone Ridge inspires young women to lead and serve, through lives of purpose that integrate faith, intellect, community, social action, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.
The Director of EdTech and Innovation, reporting to the Head of School, provides whole-school leadership on all technology and innovation initiatives. S/he will maintain current and ongoing edtech initiatives such as the device programs, professional development, K-12 technology course oversight, understanding global technology trends, the School’s virtual learning program etc. S/he will work collaboratively with many stakeholders to plan for and execute the technology strategic initiatives outlined by the school. The Director of EdTech and Innovation will oversee the work of the Middle and Upper School educational technologists as well as the IT Department in order to create consistency and to make pedagogically-centered decisions. S/he will also serve to support the Lower School in edtech work by providing professional development, team-teaching, and supporting the efforts to integrate technology where appropriate. S/he will serve as a member of the School’s Management Team and work with all faculty and staff to ensure that the program and operations reflect the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education as best practices in technology and pedagogy. The Director of EdTech and Innovation will demonstrate a commitment to the Goals and Criteria through a professional and caring demeanor.
The ideal candidate has experience in independent and/or Catholic school and possesses an advanced degree in a related field. S/he exhibits a passion for and love of adult education, virtual/hybrid learning, familiarity with trends in educational technology and social media; experience in robotics, coding, and computer science are desired skills. S/he demonstrates a collaborative spirit, a good sense of humor, excellent communication skills, and flexibility.
Position responsibilities:
General

Provide oversight and guidance on EdTech/Innovation mission and vision for the EdTech and IT teams

Provide oversight and collaboration of school wide EdTech/Innovation events and projects (through current and ongoing programs as well as the new strategic initiatives)

Coordinate collaboration between EdTech and IT teams
-
Present Stone Ridge’s EdTech work and growth to stakeholders (board, parents, faculty, larger community)

Conduct informal and formal research within EdTech and Innovation

Collaborate and coordinate with divisional Heads on technology integration in classroom initiatives

Collaborate and coordinate with faculty on STEM, STEAM and Maker Movement initiatives and projects

Serve on the Management Team to guide and lead the EdTech and Innovation mission within Stone Ridge’s goals and vision

Provide professional development for the Management Team

Support and maintain the virtual learning and teaching program

Perform other duties as assigned
