IT Support Technician

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the IT Support Technician is an integral part of the school’s operations. Being reliable with a collaborative, professional work ethic is required. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge in the areas of IT security, network components, computer operating systems, protocols and standards. Qualified individuals will be familiar with MacOS, Chromebooks, iPads and Windows client support issues.
As a member of the Kirby School community, the IT Support Technician should be a self-directed and highly motivated learner who is aware and up to date with technology trends and best practices. Upon offer of employment, candidate will be required to complete a background check via LIVESCAN and submit current TB test results.
Key duties and responsibilities:

Maintain the integrity, reliability, and security of all network components including servers, switches, Wi-Fi, peripherals, and school-wide database systems including Google App Suite, Windows Server 2016 and Blackbaud.

Ensure technology policies, procedures, and processes in areas such as IT security, network access, purchasing, risk management, disaster recovery and planning processes are in place and receive regular review for currency and adequacy and are in compliance.

Manage the Kirby IT Help Desk to ensure high-quality and timely technical support for all school constituents.

Negotiate and process all technology-related vendor agreements including software licensing, copier leasing, internet, telephone, and cable services; review submitted bids for compliance with stated requirements, and make vendor recommendations to the Director of Operations.

Configure, deploy and manage Mac and PC desktops, laptops and tablets, including on boarding new devices and users.

Support VOIP phone system

Implement and maintain internal documentation related to technology, including warranty tracking, repair history and equipment backup logs.

Support and troubleshoot technology in classrooms and offices including computer hardware, printers, audio/video equipment, and other devices.
