Position Summary:
The Information Technology Specialist provides training and support on technology and content integration to the high school. The employee assists with identifying and acquiring hardware, software, and network products. This individual also assists in the implementation school wide technology plan.
Position Responsibilities:
- Implementation and maintenance of all technology infrastructure and systems including servers, network, software, printers, information security, internet content filtering, and Google Workspace for Education (G Suite)
- Provide technical support for students, faculty, and staff in-person and via phone and email
- Manage 1:1 Chromebook program including purchasing, repairs, and Google Admin Console policies
- System administration of Windows PCs and servers using Active Directory and Group Policy
- Maintain wired and wireless networks including firewall, switches, and wireless access points
- Provide support and maintenance for classroom A/V equipment including interactive touch screen displays and projectors
- Assist in administration of SIS and LMS
- Plan and coordinate system upgrades
- Train and communicate technology documentation with faculty
- Prepare technology budget and negotiate with vendors to make technology purchases
- Purchasing using government funding including E-Rate, NYSTL, and FAMIS
Experience & Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 1-2 years experience
Skills & Competencies:
- Operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, overhead projectors, and data projectors
- Prepare various kinds of communication and information including emails, correspondence, reports, articles, proposals, contracts, policies, charts, spreadsheets, curriculum documents, staff development plans, educational forms and data
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Adherence to the highest level of professionalism by demonstrating honesty, integrity, and maturity
