Technology Support Specialist (10-month)
The Position: Hawken School is seeking a technology support professional to provide level 1-2 IT support to faculty, staff, students and administration at its Gates Mills Campus. This is a ten-month position (working from August 15 through June 15) and is eligible for Hawken’s comprehensive benefits program.

This role is focused on supporting our technology initiatives, including our student 1:1 computer program, and spends significant time processing computer repairs or associated tasks required to keep students “on the road” with their technology. The essential functions of the position include:

Providing front line tech support for our 1:1 tablet computing program.
Providing immediate break/fix support and responding to help desk support requests from students, faculty and staff.
Installing and configuring computer systems (both Windows and MacIntosh platforms), diagnosing hardware/software faults and solving technical problems either over the phone, e-mail, remotely or face-to-face.
Configuring and managing iPads and/or other mobile technologies.
Providing some basic departmental business support including: purchasing, asset inventory management, policy register, software licensing, and client satisfaction management.
Providing some installation and support for classroom equipment, including data projectors, SmartBoards, document cameras and printers.
Other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the following:

High level of proficiency working with Apple and Windows computers in a networked environment
Proficiency troubleshooting network file-sharing and printing issues, classroom technologies, and common software applications in schools.
Proficiency using the Casper Management Suite to administer Apple computers in a networked, high-user-volume environment
Expertise with Parallels Desktop and associated administrative tools.
Ability to use appropriate tools to remove parts of a computer and make minor repairs when practical.
The skills to become certified to repair computers per manufacturers’ requirements.
An aptitude for technology support, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a calm presence of mind when constituents may be under stress.
A high degree of discretion and initiative, exhibiting superb interpersonal skills when interfacing with all levels of school constituents.
Efficiency, organization, adaptability and a sense of humor. Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, skills and/or certifications.
