Design and Technology Support Specialist
The person in this position has the opportunity both to teach students in our Design and Technology classes (a design-thinking curriculum that encourages project-based problem-solving) and to provide technical support and informal training to students, faculty and staff. The position reports to our Network Administrator and Director of Technology
Specific Responsibilities:

Teach Design and Technology classes (a class revolving around the use of creativity and technology in the design process to produce unique and fun projects for students (two - three sections)

Identify, research, and resolve end-user hardware and software issues in our primarily Macintosh 1-1 computing environment

Provide technical support for campus events requiring network connectivity, printing, audio/video connections, software and audio-visuals.

As with all full-time positions at our boarding school, this position includes weekly dormitory duty and rotating weekend duty (typical six weekends a year) and also includes co-curricular responsibilities, dependent upon experience.
Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of Apple operating systems and hardware

General ability to assess, repair, or refer for repair software and hardware issues (skill level comparable to Level 1 Help Desk and up to Layer 3 networking)

Comp TIA A+ and Comp TIA Network+ certifications ideal

Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and planning skills.

Ability to work independently and as a team.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
