Director of Technology
General Overview: The Hudson School seeks a talented, committed educator to serve as Director of Technology. This is a full-time, in-person position beginning in May 2022.
The Hudson School has 190 students and 35 full-time faculty. We have a 1:1 Chromebook program for students. Each classroom is equipped with a SMARTboard, TV, and desktop PC.

Mission: The Hudson School provides intellectually inquisitive students in grades 5-12 with a rigorous and relevant college-preparatory education that inspires independent thinking and intellectual risk-taking. Our goal is to develop compassionate, responsible, principled citizens who are socially conscious and committed to lifelong learning, academic scholarship and service. The school fosters an eclectic and supportive environment that challenges students and faculty to develop their passions and talents through a stimulating, balanced, and creative interdisciplinary curriculum.

Responsibilities:

Maintain all School hardware and software
-
Create the annual technology budget and manage related vendors

Work with students and faculty to troubleshoot any technical issues
-
Train faculty on any new technologies
-
Teach 2-4 computer science classes to upper school students
-
Issue, maintain, and collect devices issued to students and staff
-
Maintain network and device security
A successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and experiences:

Strong diagnostic skills

Understand and be willing to enforce the use of a helpdesk ticketing system

Experience and patience working with technology novices

Vigilance of current scams
-
1-2 years experience teaching or tutoring
-
Belief that all students can achieve at the highest academic level

Recognize individual student learning needs and develop strategies to address those needs

Able to meet often to collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student progress

Flexibility and ability to work in an active school environment
