Media Studies Teacher

Ross School is seeking interested candidates for a Media Studies Teacher. The Media Studies program at Ross is composed of theory, production (narrative, documentary, web-based, new media art, etc), media history and practices / ethics. Students explore the function of media and ideology in history and the world today, while gaining essential technical skills.The Media Studies Teacher will be responsible for implementing and further developing our innovative program in grades K-12, while collaborating with faculty to design interdisciplinary projects. S/he would be responsible for teaching both core media criticism / history courses as well as a broad range of electives focused on production. This person will work in close collaboration with the Dean of Media Studies to ensure that the program aligns with the Ross curricular narrative.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to work creatively across a variety of multimedia/ web tools, software and programs, have teaching experience and a strong background in media theory/ history. Filmmakers and media artists are encouraged to apply. BA or Master in Media Studies or Film/Video Production or the equivalent. Skill set needed includes media theory/ criticism, cinema studies, FCP editing, videography, sound recording and basic web design. Coding skills a plus.

Ross School is an independent school with a global focus serving day students Pre-N-6 and both day and boarding students 7-12.
