Database Manager
The Database Manager oversees all aspects of the Development Department’s database (Raiser’s Edge). This position facilitates an accurate and consistent information link of biographical data between all school databases and Raiser’s Edge, improving the capacity for fundraising, community-building, and communication/marketing.
The Database Manager works under the supervision of the Director of Development.
Specific responsibilities of this position include:
Provide database administration to assure that the Raiser’s Edge database supports the transactional and informational needs of the organization.
Ensure that the processing, and acknowledgement of gifts are performed in an accurate and timely fashion.
Coordinate with the Business Office and the auditor throughout the year and at year-end for the annual accounting audit to ensure that all gifts are properly tracked and credited to correct fund(s).
Prepare bank deposits for all checks (and cash) received.
Track, monitor and acknowledge all recurring gifts, online donations, and payroll deduction gifts.
Update giving forms and giving information on school website as needed.
Aggressively maintain up-to-date data for The Field School’s 8,000 constituent records through NCOA, global changes, data scrubbing and other data enrichment services.
Prepare and submit IE and NAIS annual fundraising surveys.
Run initial wealth screening and data analysis process for prospect research for new families.
Meet with Development Committee 4 times yearly (or as needed) to discuss data trends and analysis, reporting needs and effective ways to share data.
Run bi-weekly profile change updates from Whipple Hill to Raiser’s Edge.
Create and disseminate Annual Fund dashboard monthly for the Development Committee.
Run queries, analysis reports, and mailing lists as needed by development, business office and other departments.
Prepare monthly board report and dashboards for Database/Analytics Committee.
Work closely with Development staff on mailing lists, reports, AF event tracking and parent participation.
Assist RE users with any technical issues or concerns.
Maintain basic procedures manual for Raiser’s Edge use.
Work closely with Annual Fund Director, Director of Individual Giving, and Alumni Director on queries, mailing lists, reports, event tracking, and participation rates.
Analyze giving data for trends and optimization of fundraising efforts by creating, categorizing, and tracking assigned appeals.
Update and track consituent affiliations with the school through attribute flags
Expand the effectiveness of tracking Actions, and more specifically, solicitors
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of database management, preferably in Raiser’s Edge. Strong Excel knowledge (pivot tables, embedded formulas, conditional formulas, etc.). Ability to create and upate Crystal Reports desired, but not required. The candidate must be able to prioritize multiple demands and must be deadline-driven and detail-oriented. A vision to improve business practices and the drive to analyze giving trends from different angles.
This is a full-time, year-round position that enjoys the school’s vacation and holiday schedule during the school-year.
