Primary Objective
The Educational Technology Specialist, a 12-month full-time position, will support all Whitefield Academy faculty, PreK4 through grade 12, in integrating technology into instruction. This individual will serve as an expert in the field of educational technology and will advise the administration in terms of current and future programming. The Educational Technology Specialist will sustain and promote the positive, effectual, responsible use of technology in instruction, and will be tasked to execute Whitefield Academy’s Digital Stewardship initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Mission and Core Values of Whitefield Academy
• Design and lead ongoing training and support for Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School teachers and administrators in all aspects of educational technology
• Model exemplary technology-integrated lessons in the Lower, Middle, and Upper School levels
• Keep current on research trends and significant developments in the area of technology, curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Perform basic hardware troubleshooting, maintenance and simple remedies
• Establish and/or maintain instructional software databases
• Develop and implement, in partnership with administration, a 3-5 year progressive technology master plan
• Promote the positive, effectual use of technology in instruction
• Work collaboratively with all Whitefield stakeholders as needed
• Create and maintain a database reference resource for teachers that supports the effective integration of technology in instruction
• Develop and implement technology integration standards
• Collaboratively develop and monitor a system or systems for understanding successful technology integration
• Train new employees on instructional technology
• Build healthy, professional relationships with teachers across divisions and disciplines
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Minimum of 5 years successful classroom teaching experience, multi-divisional (i.e. Lower School, Middle School, and/or Upper School) is preferred
• Master’s degree required, Educational Technology preferred
• Minimum 2-years experience serving as an Educational Technology Specialist
• Demonstrated record of establishing a successful technology integration program across school divisions
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with those across various proficiency levels
• Ability to simultaneously manage substantive short and long term goals
• Candidates with specialized technology certifications are preferred
