Technology Support Specialist
Blue School seeks a self-motivated person to join our Technology Department, part time. Candidates must have experience with Macs and iPads and be keen to learn VOIP, Mobile Device Management systems and Google Apps for Education. The role requires interaction with faculty, staff and students so clear communication skills are a requirement.
Job Functions:
Systems Administration
Maintain and administer all systems and services including VOIP and Google Apps for Education
Deploy and manage end user Macbooks and iPads using JAMF Casper Suite
Administer and maintain user accounts and groups for all systems including tech ticketing and Google Apps for Education
Technical Support and Maintenance
First-level technical support for faculty, staff and students, including direct troubleshooting of hardware, peripherals, and software issues.
Monitor help-desk for jobs. Communicate status of jobs to tech team and end users. Provide detailed information of job status or resolution into tickets or knowledgebase
Ensure that school assets are labeled, maintained and tracked accurately in JAMF and Google Docs.
Test, implement, install, configure, troubleshoot and repair laptop carts, mobile (iOS) devices, Apple TV’s, projectors and A/V sound system
Maintain and administer the phone handsets and VOIP system
Install, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain network printers
Install, upgrade, test and troubleshoot software applications, mobile apps, and desktop computers
Provide technical & audio-visual support for evening events as delegated and assist in media uploads post-event
Provide technical & audio-visual support for all-school and class meetings as needed
Other Technology Functions
Assist in training on new software and hardware devices
Monitor and maintain school iPad carts and laptop carts
Respond to and work on special projects as needed or requested
Technical Requirements:
Working knowledge of Apple computer hardware, OS X, iOS applications and peripherals
Basic knowledge of JAMF and deployment of iOS devices including Apple VPP and DEP
Knowledge of basic networking.
Experience administering phone and voicemail systems
Experience troubleshooting printers and AirPrint
Basic knowledge of wireless networking implementation, configuration, and security
