Areas of Responsibility
The successful candidate for this position would update and maintain our core database, and provide direct support to end users across Barrie’s campus. They would ensure accurate student, family, and employee records, conduct annual processes for moving from year to year, and configure core database settings to support school operations.
This position is for 60-100% time, and can be remote with the ability to come to the office as needed.
Responsibilities
The Database Administrator would be the key point for configuring, updating, and managing Blackbaud K12 Student Management, Enrollment Management, and Raiser’s Edge NXT to support offices across the school.
- Admission:
- Troubleshooting and tech support for end users
- Data and process management mapping where necessary to ensure effective use of our enrollment management system (Blackbaud EMS)
- Advancement
- Support end users of Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Troubleshooting and tech support for end users
- Data and process management mapping where necessary to ensure effective use of our donor and alumni relations system (Raiser’s Edge NXT)
- Assist with gift entry and monthly reporting
- Business Office
- Support end users of Finance Edge NXT
- Lower, Middle, and Upper School
- Configuring report card periods
- Bulk upload student information, photos, and documents as necessary
- Supporting registrars
- Head of School
- Produce accurate reporting
- Communication
- Ensure effective integration with Communications software
- Database management
- Be the primary point of contact with Blackbaud support to address software performance
- Annual processes
- Rollover of academic year, terms, and schedules
- Configure academic and activity schedules
- Manage annual family data and emergency contact form updates
- User management
- Employing/withdrawing employees at direction of Business office
- Allocating permissions in line with user needs
- Troubleshooting family/student/staff login and account information
- Managing integrations with 3rd party providers

Qualifications
The following qualifications are essential:
- 1-3 years of direct database management experience
- Exceptional record of integrity and discretion
- Experience with Blackbaud School Management, Enrollment Management, or Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Overall tech savviness and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills and demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
