Open Window School has an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to support grades 5-8 curriculum and instruction as an Innovation & Technology Teacher in our fully outfitted makerspace. Open Window School has made significant steps forward in innovation and technology over the past few years, including the opening of the Innovation & Technology Lab, a state-of the art innovation facility and fabrication lab for twenty first century learning.
The Middle School Innovation & Technology Teacher will teach technology, computer science, engineering design, and maker skills, as well as collaborate with faculty to design and coordinate interdisciplinary activities to promote innovative learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making, design thinking, project-based learning, and STEM education as well as experience working in a student-centered, collaborative, and inquiry-based educational environment. Other responsibilities include participation in weekly department and faculty meetings, leading a middle school advisory group, teaching or supervising student led elective classes and attendance at some evening and overnight activities.
