School Media Specialist / Director of Innovation Center
Seacrest County Day School seeks an energetic media specialist to provide leadership in developing a 21st century innovative and collaborative K-12 media center. A certification/advanced degree in educational media or library science is required. A strong background in technology integration and experience assisting STEM/STEAM programs and creating makerspaces and collaborative environments is preferred. Five years of school library experience is desired and experience working at a private school is a plus. Candidates must be committed to a student-centered learning environment and familiar with differentiated instruction.
Help create, and be the one to articulate, Library/Innovation Center strategies in achieving the mission and goals of the school and to set objectives, assessments, and policies in cooperation with the members of the academic administration.
Help make the Library become an Innovation Hub: feeding students' curiosity, bringing vibrancy to research, hands on learning, and collaborative exploration using STEM/STEAM, makerspaces, technology, and other ideas
To collaborate with the Academic and Technology Committees to integrate technology across the curriculum
Help create relevancy in the Middle School and Upper School while continuing usage in the Lower School
To collaborate with teachers and develop research units and/or to teach research units within all divisions.
Prepare and administer an annual budget for collection development (books, periodicals, and electronic resources) and hardware and software purchases.
Circulation and collection management responsibilities, scheduling of parent volunteers and library classroom time.
