Director of Systems Technology
Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is seeking a Director of Systems Technology. The Director is responsible for providing strategic vision, direction, leadership, planning, and management for the development, acquisition, implementation, and support of the technology infrastructure. The Director of Systems Technology supervises a team of IT professionals and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
The principal responsibilities of the Director include:
• Providing strategic leadership in the area of technology for institutional planning purposes
• Establishing and implementing short and long term department goals and objectives in-line with mission and philosophy of the school and the immediate objectives of the Head of School
• Assisting the Director of Educational Technology in planning for the use and integration of technology in the instructional program
• Managing end user expectations by providing the leadership needed to resolve problems associated with ordering, service, and support
• Remaining current and serving as a clearinghouse of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to the technology infrastructure
• Developing and managing the school’s technology budget
• Serving as a systems contact for all technology related communications
• Establishing and evaluating performance standards for the school’s information technology services
• Ensuring that plans are carried out and resources are used effectively and efficiently
• Maintaining, tracking, and reporting on the school’s technology resources inventory
• Maintaining, auditing, and continuously improving computer, network, and data security
• Developing, reviewing, and certifying all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans
• Interacting with key personnel on internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information
• Reviewing all technology related purchases
• Assisting in the design, coordination, and provision of instructional technology workshops
• Attending faculty meetings and events in order to both listen to and address faculty needs and communicate with the faculty about continued developments in the technology infrastructure of the school
• Working closely with the Communications Department to support and administer the school’s web content platform
• Overseeing the troubleshooting and support efforts of the Systems Technology team, including Systems and Network Administrators, Application Support Personnel and Help Desk/Desktop Support Staff
• Providing maintenance and support for all computer labs, classroom technology, office technology and Audio/Visual systems throughout the school

• The ability to motivate, inspire, and support faculty and staff
• Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of management experience in technology systems
• An advanced degree is preferred
