The Learning, Design, and Technology (LDT) team within the Teaching and Learning Hub at the Graduate School of Business provides learning design and instructional technology expertise to support faculty in their teaching and enhance the student learning experience at the GSB. The LDT team contributes critically to innovations in teaching and learning, incubating and piloting new teaching technologies, techniques, and programs.
We are looking for a Senior Learning Technology Administrator to provide educational technology expertise and support in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of face-to-face, blended, and online learning experiences. This role collaborates closely with faculty, learning experience designers, other instructional technologists, and software developers to design, develop, and support solutions that provide meaningful, equitable, and inclusive learning, increased student engagement, and a smooth instructional experience for academic programs (MBA, MSx, PhD), as well as Executive Education and other public-facing programs.
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in learning management systems and educational technologies and be excited to drive innovation and support faculty in enhancing teaching and learning through technology.
Please Note: This position requires regular, on-site work at the Stanford GSB campus, but a full-time on-campus presence is not required for this role.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Oversee and support the use of technology in teaching, learning, and community building and engagement. This includes integrating technology into courses and co-curricular learning.
- Lead the development of resources, seminars, courses, or workshops to share knowledge on the effective uses of technology in education.
- Foster the adoption of digital learning tools by creating new resources, providing user support, promoting these tools within the community, and maintaining the necessary infrastructure for their use in teaching and learning.
- Manage technical tools, oversee user access, ensure security standards are met, document processes, and collaborate with Information Technology teams across campus.
- Manage and update academic technology policies, procedures, and support.
- Lead initiatives to explore and implement innovative uses of technology for teaching and learning.
- Assist faculty and departments in integrating technology into courses and programs in support of teaching and learning goals.
- Provide expertise and support in applying best practices for integrating technology into curriculum and instruction.
- Consult on development of software applications, or work with on- or off-campus resources to develop or adapt software solutions.
- Advocate for effective uses of technology in education across departments and provide leadership in this area.
- Serve as a spokesperson and leader on innovative academic technologies.
- Lead complex academic technology projects with wide impact at the university. Lead teams in designing tools or applications for teaching and learning.
- Manage vendor relationships.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- An advanced degree plus seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to learn new technologies and programming tools quickly and train users of varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in designing applications or tools; understanding of software development life cycle and quality control practices.
- Ability to tackle complex problems in technical applications.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead technology projects.
- Ability to recognize and recommend necessary changes in user and/or operations procedures.
- Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with members of the academic community; demonstrated experience working in an environment with colleagues of diverse backgrounds and customs.
- Excellent time management and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment in providing services based on goals.
- Excellent leadership skills.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
- Experience with one or more of the following: Canvas, NovoEd, Atomic Assessments, Kaltura, PlayPosit, LTI, and eLearning authoring tools.
- Experience managing relationships with vendors of computer and software services.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams with media professionals, learning experience designers, academic technologists, and software developers.
- Change management expertise.
- Experience applying AI technologies and/or analytics to enhance learning outcomes.
The expected pay range for this position is $111,000 - $140,000 per annum for on-site/hybrid positions.
