Outsanding High School in San Francisco Hires Talented CFOO
Drew School
Located in the heart of San Francisco's vibrant Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood, Drew School is an independent high school enrolling 290 students in grades 9 through 12. Drew's mission speaks to a fundamental belief in teenagers that truly sets the school apart. Drew recognizes and honors their innate gifts, talents and curiosity, and strives to develop all of them as they construct a deeper sense of self and purpose. In service of the mission, Drew committed to delivering on the three essential aspects of what Drew believes high school should be: academics, social, and personal.
Drew saught an experienced leader as its chief finance and operations officer (CFOO), to report directly to the head of school. The CFOO works closely with the head of school and the board of trustees to develop and execute the school’s long-term financial strategy, planning, and analysis. The CFOO works collaboratively with other members of the school’s strategic leadership team, and oversees the business office, facilities, operations, technology, and HR. The school was about to embark on a new strategic planning exercise and wanted to grow its endowment to support enhancements to the program and increases to faculty compensation. A talented and engaged CFOO partner was essential for these and many other school-wide initiatives.
Drew was thrilled to welcome Ms. Werbach to the post in the spring of 2023.
Meet the new leader
Lyn is an experienced COO/CFO with 20+ years scaling companies in the Bay Area. Prior to joining Drew School, Lyn was COO of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, a 501c6 that developed and launched the Higg Index, the technology platform for measuring sustainability in the global apparel supply chain. Prior to the SAC, Lyn was CFO and co-founder of Act Now Productions, which became the first sustainability communications practice of Saatchi & Saatchi. Lyn is a board member of the JCC of San Francisco and a Wexner Heritage Fellow.
