21st Century Skills Pedagogical Coach
Gulliver has two (2) openings for a 21st Century Skills Pedagogical Coach for the 2016-2017 school year. Individual will support and coach teachers to help them design learning experiences that are student centered, based on student-driven learning goals and amplify student choice, voice and agency. The coach will have extensive understanding on how technology can be used as a tool for learning. The coach will also help monitor the school’s overall curriculum scope and sequence, overseeing the targeted review, development, revision and implementation of robust curriculum.
Primary duties will include integrating and teaching how the following platforms, methodologies, tools and approaches effect and amplify learning:
- Technology
- Social Media
- Publishing
- ‘Making’
- Design-thinking
- ‘Understanding by Design’/’Universal Design for Learning’
- Learning Spaces
- Showcasing Learning (making thinking visible) through digital portfolios, exhibitions and the like
- Assessment for/as learning and reflection
Teaching certification, Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Experience teaching in an independent, academically rigorous, college preparatory institution is highly desirable; experience designing learning spaces to better support student learning, agency and autonomy is desirable; prior experience as an instructional coach, curriculum leader or teaching maker education; industrial design experience a plus.
