Senior IT Field Technician
The King’s College and Preparatory School is an independent ISASA member school situated in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. There are 690 pupils enrolled from Grade 1 to Grade 12, of which all pupils from Grade 4 to 12 have either Android, Apple or Windows tablets connected to a wireless network. The school is a ministry of New Covenant Church Bryanston, and has served the community with distinction for over 30 years. The above technician will offer full campus-wide support to the Church as well as to the school.

Qualification requirements:
3 – 5 Years’ experience in IT Support
Microsoft Certification (Any)
Basic Server 2012 with Virtualization knowledge
Basic Exchange knowledge
Understanding of firewalls / UTM devices
Networking, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, WWAN, VLAN
Desktop support
Admin skills must be good
Good people skills is essential
A+, N+, Relevant IT Degree or Diploma
Duties/areas of responsibility:
Assisting staff and pupils in an Android, iPad and Windows tablet environment in which eBooks are the main teaching source
Setting up and controlling network access of new laptops, tablets and desktops across platforms
Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to devices across all platforms, and are kept up to date
Antivirus installation to devices
Fault-finding across platforms and devices
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
Undertaking small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT manager
Providing desktop and minor server support
Assisting with core servers which include file share, exchange, domain and other servers
Providing network support where necessary
Reporting faults and maintaining logs on devices
Ensuring all logs for equipment and users are maintained
Patching of networks where necessary
Making of Cat 5E network cables where necessary
Escalating IT issues to the IT manager where necessary
