The teacher will lead and co-lead programs as part of a 4th to 8th grade progression in engineering & robotics. Courses are currently offered after school and include Maker workshops, Arduino-based robosoccer tournaments, Lego EV3 building and programming, and the FLL team challenge. All courses emphasize collaboration and aim to strike a balance between direct instruction and inquiry-driven project work.
Individual responsibilities will vary based on the teacher’s particular skills and interests. Technical experience with at least a few of the following: fabrication and design (laser cutter, 3D printer), coding (Arduino or EV3, Scratch, electronics (sensors, dc motors/drivers, basic circuitry) and mechanical design or Lego Technic building is desired. Experience working with 10-14 year old students is strongly preferred. Working collaboratively as part of a group of enthusiastic educators is essential. Sense of humor is required.
