K-6 Technology Integration Specialist
Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 515 students located east of Boulder on a beautiful 112-acre campus, seeks an exceptional K – 6 Technology Integration Specialist. The Integration Specialist is a key member of the Lower and Middle School teams and is responsible for enhancing learning through the innovative use of technology in the classroom. Dawson believes that the best learning environment is one of application and we strive to create authentic conditions for technology application and learning. The Specialist supports and promotes the utilization of technology through grades K – 6 and uses their knowledge for instruction with technology classes and in creating strategies to help design and implement projects in the collaboration with other teachers. The Dawson Technology Curriculum is focused on five primary areas: (1) Primary Technology Skills (computer and iPad use, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, keyboarding, and general technology literacy), (2) Coding, (3) Engineering and Design (electronics, 3D modeling/printing, prototyping), (4) Robotics, and (5) Digital Media.

Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology/Instructional Technology or a related field is preferred
• Extensive working knowledge/experience of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and related technologies in both Mac and Windows environments
• Previous teaching experience preferred

Duties
• Report to Director of K -8
• Work with K – 6 faculty to design and implement technology based projects to support the curriculum and use of digital portfolios
• Serve as technology liaison between faculty, staff, and the technology department
• Develop and deliver professional development for faculty and staff
• Setup and on-going management of K – 4 iPad program
• Teach fifth and sixth grade technology courses
• Administer K – 8 MAP testing
• Continually review emerging technologies and software applicable to independent schools
• Provide support in developing and implementing the school’s technology plans
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintain expertise in the field
• Collaborate with Media Specialist, work with after school programs, and perform additional K – 6 responsibilities
• Additional duties as deemed necessary by the School
