Curriculum Specialist Focus Area: Instructional Technology
PRIMARY FUNCTION
In collaboration with District staff and principals, works with teachers on the daily implementation of effective content area/technology strategies, instructional planning, and reflection on classroom practices.
ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS
Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services –Secondary Education, provides training and staff development to newly-hired and existing teaching staff.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assist in developing and providing staff training for the District’s Instructional Technology.
•Provide training and assist District staff with instructional planning, research-based pedagogical practices, assessing student progress and meeting the instructional needs of diverse learners and age groups.
•Assist staff in the planning and implementation of staff development and other activities in support of the District’s Instructional Technology programs.
•Assist with the development and implementation of the District’s program of staff development cycles of continuing training for Instructional Technology.
•Facilitate and oversee coordination of staff development activities conducted after school hours.
•Provide and demonstrate classroom lessons, as needed, to teachers.
•Interface with principals to meet individual site’s staff development needs.
•Collaborate with and provide leadership to site teacher leaders who provide support to staff at their individual sites.
•Other related tasks as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Must possess a valid California teaching credential and at least three (3) years teaching experience.
•Knowledge of Common Core Strategies and Technology.
•Ability to work harmoniously with individuals and groups of diverse cultural backgrounds is essential.
•Ability to establish and maintain a team approach to program planning and implementation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
•Support schools by facilitating and participating in site learning walks.
•Attend professional development to learn and develop expertise in new initiatives, including the Common Core Standard.
SALARY SCHEDULE
Salary is dependent upon teaching experience and education. Full credit is given for approved years of prior teaching experience. The salary schedule extends from a minimum of $50,692 and to a maximum of $97,990 per year. There is a $1,500 annual stipend for BCLAD and a $1,000 annual stipend for CLAD Certification. There is an annual Curriculum Specialist stipend of $4,484 and ten (10) days per diem.
