Director of Technology
Position description: The Technology Director oversees all aspects of the school’s information technology network, technology instruction program and technology resources. This position is a twelve-month position. Position classification: Exempt (salaried employee) Reports to: Head of School

Qualifications: Associates or bachelors degree required. Minimum of three years experience managing information technology programs and networks. Candidate must present a satisfactory record based on a check of records held by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED). Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Excellent working knowledge of computer hardware and software, specifically Windows 7/Windows 10 and iPad iOS - Excellent working knowledge of network operations, including backup operations - Oral Communication Skills - Written Communication Skills - Interpersonal Communication Skills - Cultivation of Interpersonal Relations - Problem Solving Ability - Organization - Planning - Professionalism - Presentations in a group setting - Familiarity with Lightspeed’s Mobile Manager is a plus Duties and Responsibilities: A. Instructional Use of Technology - Provide curricular consultation and technical assistance for the integration of technology into all classrooms - Promote technology awareness and provide information about technology advancement - Coordinate the educational application of appropriate computer programs and resources - Lead the school’s Technology Steering Committee - Coordinate technology training programs for entire school community - Communicate information about outside training opportunities B. School-wide Technology Resources - Protect the integrity and security of the technology resources of the school - Maintain school technology equipment in proper working order - Supervise and maintain the school computer labs (stationary and traveling) - Act as a resource person for faculty and staff, responding to a wide range of questions about hardware, software, and computer applications - Assist faculty and staff members in placing information on the school’s web site - Provide timely help to teachers, staff, and students having computer problems - Develop and update school technology plan - Evaluate and select software and hardware - Develop and keep up to date the school’s Technology Code of Conduct - Ensure that the school is not violating software and other hyper-media copyright laws C. Web site management - Work with the Director of Communications to coordinate the development and maintenance of the school Web site - Manage constituent access to the private areas of the school Web site - Assist designated staff members in placing content on the web site D. Communication and Skill Development - Communicate with technology coordinators of other local independent schools - Keep informed of new instructional technology developments by studying, attending conferences, and working with new hardware and software material Schedule and working hours: As required to meet the requirements of the position.
