Oral Panel Exam Date: Monday, January 9, 2017. If your application is accepted to move forward with the testing process you will be notified by email and/or U.S. Mail of the date and location of the exam.
Basic Function: Under the direction of the *Manager Technology, plan, organize and direct operations and activities involved in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and repair of District computer systems and related hardware, software and networks; coordinate, develop, schedule and implement technology projects; train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Knowledge Of: Management of operations and activities involved in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and repair of District computer systems and related hardware, software and networks; Computer hardware systems and software applications utilized by the District; Practices, procedures and techniques involved in the troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of computer hardware, software, network and peripheral equipment malfunctions; Principles, methods and procedures of operating computers, network systems and peripherals; Database structures, on-line applications and system capabilities of District computer systems;
Principles, practices, procedures and equipment involved in network administration; Policies and objectives of assigned programs and activities; Record-keeping and report preparation techniques; Principles and practices of supervision and training; Basic budget preparation and control; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability To: Plan, organize and direct operations and activities involved in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and repair of District computer systems and related hardware, software and networks; Coordinate, plan, develop, schedule and implement technology projects; Train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; Prioritize, assign and coordinate response to work orders; Organize, direct and participate in the investigation, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of system, network, hardware, software and peripheral malfunctions; Estimate labor, material and equipment requirements for technology projects; Supervise and participate in the installation, configuration, modification and maintenance of computer hardware and software to assure smooth running of computer systems and work stations; Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; Operate a computer and assigned office equipment; Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; Meet schedules and time lines; Work independently with little direction; Plan and organize work; Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports; Use assigned software at a proficient level; Maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
