Shorecrest is seeking an accomplished and student-centered Computer Science and Robotics teacher. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching students across the four grade levels with different levels of background in Computer Science, from Introduction to Programming to Advanced Placement Computer Science . There is also the possibility of teaching a post-AP Computer Science or Interdisciplinary elective. The candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to student learning and development. The ideal candidate will also be enthusiastic about innovative pedagogies, such as discussion-based teaching and Project Based Learning.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience with Java, Python, C, C++, C#, Scheme, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, HTML and other related programming and scripting languages
- Experience with animation and design software such as Maxon Cinema 4D, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Animate, AudoDesk Inventor and CAD Solidworks
- Prior experience teaching computer studies courses, preferably at the high school level
- Experience with co-curricular coaching and advising assignments (ie Computer Club, FIRST Robotics, VEX Robotics, Engineering Club)
- Knowledge of instructional design and curriculum development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to a community that values equity, diversity and inclusion
- Willingness to collaborate with teachers across the Shorecrest campus
- Demonstrates leadership and facilitative skills
