Director of Technology Operations

The Lycée Français de New York is seeking an exempt, full-time Director of Technology Operations, reporting to the Chief Information and Data Officer, whose role is to manage the technology operations, aligned with the school’s technology strategic plan. He/She is responsible for providing high-quality service to the school community. This is achieved by implementing and maintaining high-availability and secured network, systems, and equipment that are responsive to the needs of the School. He/She is a member of the Extended Executive and Operations teams.
Director of Technology Operations’ responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing overall IT and A/V day-to-day operations, including supervision of help desk ticket escalation, network and infrastructure health and equipment (classroom and end-user) management and maintenance
- Overseeing the Technology Operations Department staff
- Maintaining a high-performance, high-availability and secured IT environment
- Providing Level III (and above) Help Desk support
- Establishing and enforcing IT standards, procedures and policies to ensure consistency, reliability and compliance.
- Approving equipment requests and loans in compliance with the school’s standards
- Maintaining documentation of all IT operations and systems
- Monitoring performance of infrastructure elements, on-premise systems and end-user equipment
- Coordinating with the Technology Operations team, the Chief Information and Data Officer, the Director of Digital Learning, the Director of Facilities and the school’s vendors/installers in managing equipment (infrastructure, end-user, classroom) life cycle : purchase, installation, deployment, decommissioning, replacement, donation
- Collaborating with the Data team in implementing cloud/on-premise systems integration
- Assisting the Chief Information and Data Officer and collaborating with the Director of Digital Learning in designing the school’s technology strategic plan
- Assisting the Chief Information and Data Officer in managing Disaster Recovery Plan implementation, maintenance and documentation.
- Collaborating with the Chief Information and Data Officer in establishing metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT operations
- Implementing data policies set by the Chief Information and Data Officer in all IT systems
- Collaborating with the Chief Information and Data Officer in managing a cost-controlled budget for IT infrastructure, equipment and operations
- Identifying requirements for expansion and programmed obsolescence of infrastructure, systems and equipment based on security, performance and the school’s needs.
- Assisting the Chief Information and Data Officer in reviewing, prioritizing and approving annual IT-related initiatives
- Maintaining good and cost-efficient relationships with the school’s technology suppliers and vendors

Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience over a wide range of infrastructure technologies and operations - network engineering and administration preferred
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure planning and deployment (1:1 Apple environment preferred), project management, and policy development.
- Network certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto)
- Experience in working in an educational environment preferred
- Bilingual French/English
Working Conditions :
- Availability and work during extended hours and on weekends is required.
