Position Summary
The Director of Technology is responsible for the overall planning, organization, integration, implementation and maintenance of all IT functions. The Director of Technology must partner with students, faculty and staff to enhance school operations and improve the current infrastructure by developing a strategic, long-term technology plan for the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, vision and day-to-day management of the Technology Department
- Remain current on new developments in software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training and maintenance
- Manage IT inventory of all school-owned or leased equipment
- Ensure the coordination, security and efficiency of network infrastructure
- Identify, evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies for classroom and administrative uses
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security and privacy of information
- Spearhead technology initiatives that support teaching and learning
- Direct, supervise and evaluate IT staff in terms of their performance responsibilities and productivity
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- At least five years’ experience managing an IT department and actively supporting a network infrastructure
- Experience working in an educational environment preferred
- Or combination of equivalent experience, education, and training

- Excellent relational skills and leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of technology hardware
- Ability to relate to all levels of the user community
- Ability to envision new ways to leverage technology to improve the performance of core business processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
