Middle School Design and Technology Teacher

Aspengrove School, a JK-12 IB Continuum school, is inviting applications for the position of Middle School Design and Technology Teacher-Leader. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator with a passion for design, innovation and technology literacy. A collaborative approach to teaching and learning, and committed to excellence in the classroom, this person will bring a range of skills and experiences to the position that will allow him/her to work across divisions, with students and teachers both inside and outside of the classroom. This position combines a teaching load with leadership in technology integration. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in joining a deeply committed community of educators.
QUALIFICATIONS

• BC Teacher Certificate
• Related teaching experience

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• prepare for, teach, support and supervise students
• provide feedback on student progress in the form of assessments, reporting and conferencing
• participate in the co-curricular programs
• attend all required meetings and professional development activities
• work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate technology in the classroom
• mentor and support teacher and student development with technology
• review, research and advise on software decisions
• participate in planning for the future learning commons and design labs
• support school integration of technology and tech systems
