Salary: $3,338.75 / month

As the most-used service on campus and an essential component of education and research at the University of North Texas, the Libraries offer access to more than 6 million items (print and digital) along with expert personnel to assist patrons in achieving their academic and scholarly goals. We provide innovative programs and support to enhance the relationship between teaching and learning at the University of North Texas.

Members of the Collection Development department work as an interdependent, collaborative team to ensure that the UNT Libraries provides quality, useful books, journals and other resources. Collection Development team members have the chance to work independently, grow professionally, and to create innovative methods of increasing access to quality resources.  

The University of North Texas Library is seeking to hire a Data Analyst II to join our Collection Development team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

The Collections Data Analyst will work mostly independently to collect and maintain data sets using a variety of systems and tools, as well as planning and conducting analyses of that data for the purpose of addressing questions related to developing and managing the UNT Libraries' collections. These questions may include, but are not limited to:
* Overlap of content of current or proposed collections or databases.
* Projected need or use of proposed resources.
* Identifying subjects with unmet needs based on interlibrary loan and circulation patterns.
* Comparison of holdings with peer institutions for qualitative assessments.

The successful candidate will possess Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of data analysis work experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Strong mathematical and technical ability.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Working knowledge of statistical packages and relational database design and logic.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Access and Excel.
* Proficiency in specific software may be required.  

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Two or more years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database, computer programming (any language), or data visualization; 1 or more years' experience with statistical analysis, or in a library.
