Minimum Qualifications:

     Education/Certification:

            High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred

            A+ Certification preferred

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

            Knowledge and experience in the full family of Windows and Mac operating systems

            Experience in installing and supporting business and education applications including, but not limited to,

Microsoft Office, Adobe products, lab management software, antivirus products, various browsers for use with internet based software

Knowledge and experience with printing peripherals and  a wide range of AV equipment including digital projectors, distribution amplifiers, digital whiteboards, and a variety of audio equipment

            Experience using various technical support tools; remote management technologies; desktop management,

             imaging and packaging applications

            Knowledge of networking hardware, protocols and services

            Must have good oral and written communication skills

            Ability to work well with school staff, work well in a team environment, be self-motivated and work

             efficiently without direct supervision, be well organized and be able to multi-task and manage time

             effectively

            Must have a valid and current Texas driver's license and a good driving record

   Experience:

            Minimum of 3 years of successful, verifiable work experience in the field of computer installation and

             repair or equivalent education /training

            Work experience in public education environment preferred

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Performs a wide range of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of computer and technology equipment and provides technology support for teachers, staff and students.
    1. Troubleshoots, repairs, performs maintenance and upgrades on computer equipment.
    2. Performs installation of various computer operating systems and desktop applications and provide software support. Mac and Windows experience a plus.
    3. Ability to pull, crimp, test and repair network cabling and related hardware.
      1. Work closely with network administrators to assist in diagnosis and repair of network related problems.
      2. Maintain and troubleshoot various AV equipment including digital projectors, distribution amplifiers, digital whiteboards, audio amplifiers, and Ethernet control systems.
      3. Installs and/or sets up and supports specialized software on individual computers or servers based on needs of students.
      4. Assist in maintaining inventory and database to track software and assets.
      5. Provides support for technology for teachers and students.
      6. Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs
      7. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Services and the Network Administrator
         
        1. Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and other equipment and material at assigned site(s).
        2. Identify, request, and control the inventory of repair parts.
           
          1. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
      8. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Educator Certification rule, and local board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
      9. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
