Chaired Professor in Digital Innovation
Digital technologies are transforming the way how companies organize, market, innovate, produce, and deliver services. This transformation occurs under the label of digital innovation, and it has implications for individuals, organizations, and society. As a business school with technology at its core, the School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology is strengthening its research and teaching programs in line with these developments by adding faculty members in related disciplines.
We invite nominations and applications for appointment as the Shulman Chair of Digital Innovation. The position has tenure or accelerated tenure-track status at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, depending on qualifications. The endowed position comes with a reduced teaching load, discretionary research funds, and an annual stipend.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of scholarship in Digital Innovation, Information Systems, Management Science, Marketing, or related fields that merits appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
Candidates should have a substantial and demonstrated research program and high promise for publications at the highest level, as well as external funding. Candidates should be able to successfully develop and lead new research initiatives as well as create academic programs. Candidates must have a doctorate in Information Systems, Management Science, Computer Science, Business Administration or a closely related discipline. Candidates should have a strong interest in shaping the research agenda of the School of Business, as well as a demonstrated ability to teach successfully. The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
School of Business faculty are active in research involving social computing, collective intelligence, process innovation, finance and analytics. Faculty also publish at the highest level within their disciplines, including in journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and Management Science. Candidates are expected to publish in top journals in their field, complement and enhance the research activities of the school with their own scholarly activities, and advise Ph.D. students. Successful candidates are expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, participate in curricular development, student advisement and the school’s robust series of public events in addition to their primary role of pursuing a strong research agenda.
The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology has a special focus on information systems, analytics, and finance, and encourages interdisciplinary research.
