Provides leadership in the planning, direction and implementation of strategic, enterprise-wide Academic and Administrative information technologies at Scottsdale Community College. Manages departments, teams, projects and resources which may include System Support Services, Technology Support, Networking, Web Innovation and Development, IT Security, Help Desk, Data Center and the Student Technology Center. Demonstrates a commitment to world-class customer service, innovation, team building, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties. Works with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public.

Essential Functions
|
|
25% - Provides Information Technology leadership and operational direction for IT Managers, System Engineers, Service Support teams and assigned staff. Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing IT Services by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards and procedures. Plans and implements projects and strategic initiatives under direction from the Director of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer. 25% - Supervise and collaborate with the different IT teams to establish best practices and ensure the adherence of these practices, with a strong focus on the Systems team, Networking team and Network security. 15% - Confers with customers and peers to assess needs and develop solution options; provides guidance and consultation to the college. Participates on local and district wide teams, committees and councils 10% - Leads or assists with policy and procedure development, report generation, metrics and analysis, vendor relations, products and service, staff development, cost/benefit analysis, business continuity planning and strategic planning; coordinates course ware procurement, technology hardware and software acquisitions 10% - Assists in budget development and managing budgets 10% - Fosters team and individual development to meet professional, personal and institutional goals 5% - Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer for the college

Minimum Qualifications
|
|
1. Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience OR seven (7) years of experience, in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or related field. 2. Three (3) or more years' of experience leading a service support team and managing infrastructure staff in an Information Technology environment 3. Two (2) or more years’ of hands on experience with systems (virtual and storage), networking (Cisco and/or Juniper), and network security. 4. Experience with assisting, developing and administrating Information Technology budgets 5. Experience in developing projects from the research stage through to completion and documenting technical and operational specifications and procedures

Desired Qualifications
|
|
1. Five (5) or more years' of experience managing an Information Technology Service department, higher education environment preferred 2. Three (3) or more years' of experience leading a team in an environment with high-availability infrastructure; examples may include servers, storage, databases, disaster recovery, virtualization, data center, operations monitoring, network communications and managed/cloud services 3. Two (2) years of experience developing and communicating short term operational plan and long term strategic plans 4. Industry certification and experience with current IT best practices - ITIL, COBIT Experience preferred 5. Experience with analyzing and overseeing the analysis of data, performance metrics and the formation and management of SLAs (Service Level Agreements) 6. Experience with developing, leading and participating on effective, cross-functional teams with shared goals and responsibilities 7. Excellent communication skills as evidenced in the cover letter, as well as a high level of interpersonal and oral communication skills

Special Working Conditions

- Evening/weekend hours or standby status may be required at times - Extended periods of time viewing a computer screen - May require lifting objects up to 40 lbs. - Some in-state and out-of-state business travel may be required as well as travel between colleges - Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License may be required for some assignments; must meet district minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements
