The Learning Engineer manages the development and publishing of our K-12 suite of innovative wrap around content offerings while incorporating 21st Century Skills and design strategy into all aspects of teaching and learning. This enthusiastic and talented individual will build, design and maintain LSS’s wrap around content which includes, but is not limited to: video, audio, apps, collaboration tools, iClasses, curriculum content and other initiatives as technology continues to evolve and transform the K-12 learning environment. The person in this role has the creative vision to see beyond what is in the standard curriculum in order to provide the best learning experience for our students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, design, and implement wrap around content for our K-12 product suite
- Adhere to Laurel Springs School processes and best practices for instructional design, curriculum development, and publishing
- Incorporate developmentally appropriate 21st Century Skills into all instructional areas
- Monitor quality control processes for all curricular materials and wrap around content
- Manage the production of audio and video instructional content
- Work with various teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality course offering for students in LSS
- Lead and support the creation/use of video for the school in conjunction with marketing and events
- Remain current regarding research-based best practices in trends regarding online and text-based curriculum, apps, and services
- Analyze data on curriculum and wrap around content to assist with the prioritization of education department projects
- Teach online classes in credentialed areas, as needed
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) or Content Management System (CMS); experience with coding in HTML and CSS preferred
- Experience using publishing and presentation tools such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or similar products
- Leverage design strategy in creating innovative curriculum and instruction
- A teaching, instructional design, or curriculum & instruction credential required
- Supervisory experience
- Strong technical skills in video production
- Astute skills in project management
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
