Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University is accepting applications for an Information Technology Manager I who will focus on providing oversight and responsibility for information technology across five College departments/school. This position also oversees the enterprise-level information technology for the College including $3 million of equipment and $300,000 of CAC-funded student labs and support services for 574 faculty and staff and 4915 students. This position will manage IT strategic planning efforts for the College and directly supervise 4.5 full-time IT positions, 5 student employees, and indirectly supervise 10-15 student employees. This position requires close collaboration with Iowa State technology teams.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with constituents at all levels within the College including faculty, staff, and leadership. They will also have the ability to work in collaboration with campus technology professionals. Knowledge of IT management frameworks such as ITIL is also greatly desired.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

-MS in computer related field. 
-Experience managing IT staff and students. 
-Experience managing budgets, accounting practices, and financial reports. 
-Experience in a university/college environment. 
-Experience supporting the IT needs of a large organization. 
-Experience implementing projects in a large IT desktop support organization. 
-Experience with ISU policies and procedures.
