Instructional Design Assistant
Salary: $30,000 - $33,000
Serves as a Liaison between department chair, program
coordinators and departmental program assistants related to
Online.
Provides assistance regarding all aspects of the course design and development process including content arrangement, use of assessments, and selection of appropriate technology to facilitate learning. Assists faculty (adjunct and full-time) with issues related to teaching online.
Assist the department chair with design of quality control
measures that ensure a dynamic learning environment and
consistency with SAC's requirements.
Recommends policy and procedures related to online
development to the Department chair. Interprets rules, regulations, and procedures to be followed in carrying out responsibilities
Works directly with FIU Online to make sure deadlines and
timelines are adhered to for getting each semesters courses
developed and reviewed before the first day of the semester
Assists faculty to design, develop, and maintain distance learning courses and materials.
Collaborates with FIU Online to create exciting and visually
appealing communication material for the Department of
Communication online programs.
Maintains the department's online programs, graphic identity
(logo, templates, student engagement materials, etc).
Serves as a liaison with marketing or communication vendors and contractors for online programs
Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed.

Minimum Qualifications
High School plus 5 years experience
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of Blackboard LMS
Knowledge of QM designation for online courses
Knowledge of Adobe Connect
Master's degree in Communication, experience in teaching online courses and developing course content.
