Department Description |
The Institute for Trauma Recovery is an integral part of the research arm of the Department of Anesthesiology in the School of Medicine. The Department of Anesthesiology employs more than 200, including faculty, residents, fellows, CRNAs, research faculty, nurses, technicians, and support staff. The department currently has 19 active projects with a combined budget of 28 million. The department has a history of funding received from National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, National Institute of Justice, multiple industry sponsors as well as many private foundations and organizations. |

Position Description |
THIS POSITION IS BEING RE-POSTED PREVIOUS APPLICANTS ARE STILL BEING CONSIDERED AND NEED NOT REAPPLY. The goal of the Institute for Trauma Recovery is to advance understanding of the biological processes mediating recovery after trauma, and to use the latest scientific technology to develop individually tailored interventions that promote rapid recovery and prevent chronic symptom development. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Institute by creating, cleaning, maintaining, and analyzing research datasets and databases. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
Applicants must have knowledge of social/clinical research principles, study design, methods of data/information collection, and analysis used to complete defined assignments. Knowledge of statistics and related information technology is required to complete defined assignments. Qualified candidate will be proficient in SPSS, SAS, Stata, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, and Endnote. The applicant must also have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with a team of people. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Basic knowledge of genetics to communicate effectively with the genetics laboratory is helpful. Experience with web-based questionnaires and IT knowledge is beneficial. Master’s degree in biostatistics or epidemiology is preferred. |
