Innovation Lab Faculty

Overview:

The Innovation Lab/Engineering and Design teacher works with the Director of the Innovation Lab to help design the school’s new Innovation Lab program. It’s an exciting time to join Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County, as our Innovation Lab is slated to open next fall. The successful candidate will teach in our Innovation Lab and help faculty integrate design thinking and project based learning principles into their curricula. Successful candidates will have a strong background in classroom teaching at the lower and/or middle school level, experience with the principles of design thinking, and a passion for working with faculty to figure out creative, thoughtful and appropriate uses for the tools and materials found in our Innovation Lab. In addition, the successful candidate will have familiarity with using 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and laser cutters, as well computer programming/coding experience, specifically including Scratch, Lego EV3, and a CAD programming language. Personal qualities such as curiosity, perseverance, flexibility, versatility, and resilience are desirable as is a willingness to tackle new challenges with an open mind and to work collaboratively with students and faculty alike.
