All Saints Episcopal Day School in Hoboken, New Jersey is a high-quality independent school seeking a dedicated and dynamic full-time Technology Integration Specialist for the 2018-2019 school year. The Technology Integration Specialist plays a leading role in the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction delivery, faculty training, and assessment practices related to educational technology for teachers and administrators.  This can be a 12-month position.

Requirements include: a proven ability to integrate technology effectively in a variety of settings; a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree, an advanced degree is preferred; a strong background in technology and systems management; and a proven ability to work with students spanning a variety of ages.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Head of School or her designee, this position promotes the use of technologies to support student achievement in All Saints classrooms. The Technology Integration Specialist plays a leading role in the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction delivery, faculty training, and assessments practices related to educational technology for teachers and administrators.

S/he promotes an interactive, engaging learning environment that supports student exploration and creativity. The Technology Integration Specialist provides instructional staff with the essential support needed to deliver a robust curriculum which aligns with established learning benchmarks. Technology integration projects for each grade level shall be designed to achieve deeper engagement and higher learning outcomes. S/he will collaborate with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage and optimize the use of instructional software, learning methodologies, hardware and network resources to ensure quality teaching and learning. This skilled professional shall work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education and holds a NJ teaching certificate.
  • Holds a graduate degree or other advanced education in Instructional and/or Assistive Technology preferred.
  • At least three years of successful full-time experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Two years of professional development experience educating adults about integration of technology for instruction and productivity using the following modes: design think projects, modeling, one-on-one, small group, or large group. (Preferred)
  • A minimum of two years experience delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs for Pre K–12 students. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Support teachers and staff in the use of education technology in all curriculum areas.
  2. Work with the Head of School and the technology team to develop a strategic, long-term technology plan.
  3. Maintain cutting edge knowledge and understanding of new hardware, video, communication, web-based technologies, curriculum design, and working knowledge of instructional design and assessments.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to listen to others and remain receptive to new ideas.
  5. Educate/mentor technology users.
  6. Establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
  7. Utilize effective time management, organizational skills, and prioritization of work to meet the needs of the users.
  8. Demonstrate the ability to follow instruction and communicate effectively using both written and orally means.
  9. Demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding technology.
  10. Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
  11. Design and deliver technology-enhanced instruction with teachers, faculties and students.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Collaborates with teachers in composing effective technology-infused, content-based lessons, and supports the teachers as they implement the lessons in their classrooms.
  2. Promotes model instructional practices that leverage technology.
  3. Articulates appropriate instructional technology practices as described in technology standards for students, and teachers.
  4. Provide training and assistance to staff that builds instructional and learning capacities that that support student achievement. This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups. Collaborates in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technology materials, software, and learning methods.
  5. Assists with all aspects of Education Technology development, training, and collaboration required to adopt regional and statewide initiatives such as N.C.L.B. or standards promulgation by I.S.T.E, C.O.S.N., C.S.T.A.. and other leading bodies.
  6. Provides broad range technology support to teachers and maintains a Learning Management System (LMS).
  7. Works with curriculum staff to develop and implement Educational Technology integration projects.
  8. Provides leadership in developing and implementing technology plans and serves on the technology committee(s).
  9. Collaborates with School Administrators, Library Media Specialists, and staff to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to carry out school and technology initiatives.
  10. Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decision-making.
  11. Gathers and disseminates information (e.g., grants, policies, professional development opportunities) relevant to instructional technology.
  12. Coordinates technology related grant projects, community outreach projects and fund raisers.
  13. Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintains expertise in the field.
  14. Participates in workshops and meetings required by the Department of Instructional Technology and Information Service.
  15. Conducts staff development and supports community awareness initiatives
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.
