Technology/STEAM Teacher

The Village Community School, a K-8 school located in the West Village, seeks a self-motivated, collaborative, inclusive, and forward thinking Technology/STEAM Teacher to teach Technology and STEAM classes in grades 3-8. The Technology and STEAM curriculum has a focus on technology concepts and operations, robotics, coding, design & making and may include topics such as computer literacy, digital citizenship, computer graphics, video production, desktop publishing, 3D-printing, etc. We are looking for a candidate who will cultivate a classroom environment that prepares students to work both independently and collaboratively to solve challenges through the design process. There is a focus on those activities that allow students to engage in real world problems and experiences through project-based, hands-on learning activities.

The ideal candidate will be patient, organized, hard-working, eager to learn, and feel comfortable with collaboration. At least two years of teaching experience with elementary and or middle school aged students and proven experience integrating technology in a school environment is preferred.
