Gill St. Bernard's School, an independent, nonsectarian, college preparatory day school for students Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to join our community as a Technology Integration Specialist.

 

The Technology Integration Specialist will work collaboratively with teachers Pre-K through 12 to provide guidance and inspiration in the integration of instructional technology across the curriculum. This position will support and advocate for instructional technology initiatives as they enhance learning and increase student engagement. The Technology Integration Specialist will provide professional development to faculty and staff as well as support students in effective use of technology. This position will be part of the Technology department, reporting to the Director of Technology. It is a 12-month position.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 support for faculty in the use of educational technology.
  • Co-teach classes across all divisions for technology support and integration.
  • Provide professional development for faculty and staff.
  • Support student technology use in a BYOD environment.
  • Help develop our Tinker/Maker/Innovation spaces.
  • Assist in supporting school information systems.
  • Teach 1-2 Technology/Computer Science Classes in the Upper School.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or more advanced degree in related field(s).
  • Experience as a technology instructor, coach or coordinator.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable in both Mac and Windows platforms.
  • Strong analytical abilities and the patience to work through problems and filter information from faculty and students.
  • Experience teaching any of the following is desirable: Web Design, Adobe products, Snap!/Scratch/Python languages, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, CAD.
  • Experience working with databases and queries desirable.
