Strategic leader of Kamehameha Schools’ (KS) work to design and coordinate systemic efforts around educational data systems, processes, analytics, and reporting. Leads a team responsible for educational data sets, advanced data/statistical analyses commonly used in cross sectional education, and longitudinal studies intended to address educational and student learning challenges and practices. Manages relationships with internal and external collaborators and service providers working to expand educational opportunities for Native Hawaiians and ensure post-secondary success for Native Hawaiian students. Strategic Leadership for Educational Research and Implementation, and College Success Department Serves as the senior leader of Kamehameha Schools’ (KS) work to design and coordinate systemic efforts around educational data systems, processes, analytics, and reporting. Serves as the senior thought leader for KS’ educational data systems strategy, working closely with KS senior management, senior educational leaders and community organizations. Partners with members of the Hoolaukoa leadership team to integrate educational data with other aspects of Hoolaukoa educational systems and strategies and to set short and long-term goals. Strategic Implementation Manages KS’ educational data portfolio systems which support KS’ educational work across the full range of programs and services, including but not limited to designing, populating and ensuring that KS’ educational portfolio is accurate and accessible to educational leaders and educators, supporting shifts in educators’ use of and relationship with data to inform student learning decisions, managing KS’ data processes and central portfolio of data and overseeing the technical build-out and administration of education information systems designed to support data informed decision making. Collaborate with others to create measures to assess the impact of programs and interventions on student learning as well as school or educational climate. Ensures that the team’s work is timely and cost effective. Designs and maintains a comprehensive, data driven, research-based, and integrated process to guide team’s strategy and decision-making and to monitor, evaluate and report on the team’s work. Leadership and Management of Staff Manages and mentors a team to implement programs and projects identified through planning or customer service agreements. Supervises direct reports which include project managers, program directors, researchers and analysts. Oversees achievement of staff leadership growth plans that promote increased skills, knowledge, behaviors, and approaches especially in identified gap areas and in Nohona Hawaii. Maximizes human resources by mentoring/coaching, assessing workload, establishing an organizational culture in compliance and support of KS, conducting performance appraisals, and encouraging cross-functional work opportunities. Internal/External Collaborations Works collaboratively with all support units of KS to maximize the effectiveness of data collection and monitoring techniques to provide timely, reliable, and valid data for decision-making about Kamehameha Schools education programs and the impact on educational interventions. Provides oversight and leadership in the cultivation and establishment of collaborations with key entities (e.g., P-20, IHEs, Carnegie Foundation) that may enhance KS education programs or provide non KS programs that benefit Native Hawaiian learners by leading KS efforts to compile, organize, integrate, standardize, access, and manage the educational data portfolio in the KS organization and extant data provided by outside agencies, to be used for comparative and analysis purposes. Offers facilitation, coaching, project management, training and technical assistance, as appropriate, to build capacity among collaborators to advance the development and delivery of educational opportunities (i.e., data sharing and use, analytics.) and to engage in systematic monitoring and assessment of all education program collaborations. Administrative/Quality Control Provides administrative oversight and leadership to Educational Data Systems and Implementation department to include budget development, allocation, and accountability; and program evaluation (i.e., departmental project status reports) to improve program effectiveness, strategic goal achievement, and program improvement and alignment. Ensures decision-making and business conduct comply with organizational regulatory and policy requirements. Practices professional and sound thinking, planning, and decision-making to ensure stability and integrity of KS education programs. Communicates and reports responsibly and consistently to Director, as appropriate senior leadership, direct reports and strategic stakeholders. Conducts due diligence that includes thorough review and critique of all action plans, MOUs, service agreements, issues documents, project charters and status reports, and other documents prior to submission to the Director and Executive VP of Education and Administration and, when appropriate, KS CEO and Trustees.
