From K – 12, technology is an integral part of learning. At Punahou School, the Information Technology (IT) department strives to create an environment where access to and support for digital information, tools, devices and rich learning opportunities are fully integrated throughout the K – grade 12 environment. The IT team designs, builds, maintains and enhances technology for students and staff enabling them to effectively utilize current and emerging technologies as tools for effective learning.
The IT Educational Specialist is responsible for technology services to support Punahou’s Junior School and Academy faculty and students. This position collaborates closely with school faculty and technologists to explore existing and future technologies and how they can best be incorporated as educational tools. The scope of responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: learning management systems, digital assessment solutions, virtual learning environments, adaptive learning systems, audio-visual & interactive display technologies, digital citizenship principles, collaboration tools, experience with educational or productivity related applications (client and cloud), development of classroom curriculum, instructional aids, faculty training and keeping current of emerging innovative technologies. As part of Punahou’s commitment to education while also protecting students, the Educational Technology Specialist will interface with, vendors, educators and IT Network Engineering staff to implement grade appropriate rules for content management, student security and selective Internet access as part of a K-12 digital citizenship master plan.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM –4:00 PM
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
- Five (5) years of experience with advanced troubleshooting in Mac OS, ISO and/or MS Windows
- Certifications or coursework in educational technology, instructional design, software/programming, project management a plus
- Three (3) years of experience designing/building/supporting technology solutions and training materials
- Three (3) years of experience working in Education, publishing, LMS management, or related
- Advanced use of at least two of Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, D2L, or other top LMS
- Technical knowledge of Apple School Manager, Mobile Device Management, and Google or Apple classroom
- Deep, hands-on knowledge in current educational technologies including; iPads, 3-D printers, interactive whiteboards, etc
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Experience in AV or electronics industries a plus
