At Punahou School, the Information Technology (IT) department strives to create an environment where access to and support for digital information, tools, devices and rich learning opportunities are fully integrated throughout the K – 12 environment. The IT team designs, builds, maintains and enhances technology for students and staff enabling them to effectively utilize current and emerging technologies as tools for effective learning.
Punahou School is actively recruiting a Business Analyst to join the IT team. The Business Analyst will interface between Punahou’s user community and Information Technology department by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems, infrastructure modernization, security initiatives, business process re-engineering, and IT operational enhancements. This position provides functional and technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet Punahou School’s requirements. The Business Analyst will work with end users to gain understanding of business processes and procedures to ensure system designs meets business needs. They are also expected to identify and communicate where additional technological efficiencies could be delivered. This includes applying refined business processes to new or existing functionality to better align with School needs. They will be responsible for learning business change requirements, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing and documenting requirements and then supporting the communication and delivery of those requirements to Information Technology and appropriate stakeholders. Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM –4:00 PM
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or Management Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- Three (3) years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Business Analyst certification (i.e. ECBA, CCBA, CBAP) preferred.
- Experience in a K-12 environment, higher education, or technology-driven organization preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
- A general understanding about the best practices involved with user-experience (UX) design
- Strong understanding of International Institute of Business Analysis’ business analysis body of knowledge (BABOK).
- Excellent understanding and application of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel (macros, pivot tables, v-lookups), Power Point, Microsoft Project, Visio (or similar design software).
- Knowledge and experience with help desk software and standard customer service principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the principles and concepts of agile software development processes
- Knowledge of system development life cycle processes, to include planning, analysis, design, development, testing, etc.
