The Williams School (www.williamsschool.org) seeks a full time, 12 month, Application Support Specialist. The school was founded in 1891 and is located on the campus of Connecticut College in New London, CT.

The school environment requires databases to manage admissions, development, program, business activities, etc.  Williams currently uses Blackbaud’s Small School suite of “on” products.   The Application Support Specialist will support students, parents, faculty, and staff.  Reports to the Technology Specialist

 

 Job Duties:

  • Manages users and the data in Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge
  • Creates and implements a yearly plan for import of student, parents, and faculty data.
  • Maintains flowcharts of databases and processes. Calendar key dates so that grade reports and other time sensitive reports are produced in a timely manner.
  • Maintains database performance by implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
  • Prepares and supports users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems.
  • Maintains the integrity of the database by performing necessary maintenance.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Works with Registrar, Admissions, Development, Faculty and College Counseling to set up labels, reports, imports, exports, schedules, report cards, and transcripts.
  • Maintains relationship with Blackbaud sales and support.
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

 

Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications:

Degree in related field.

Strong knowledge of excel including exports formats, filtering, and advanced sorting.

2 - 3 years experience of database or record management in an education or not-for-profit setting

Detail oriented, with strong organizational and planning

Possess a disposition toward a team approach to administration, faculty, parents & students

Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Student Information Systems
  • Previous exposure to school databases such as Rediker, SchoolAdmin, PowerSchool, and Schoology

Experience with Blackbaud, including  onBoard, onCampus, onMessage, onRecord, and Raiser’s Edge
